Because this is a month that people take vacations I will post both swatches.  I am also posting a swatch I used last year.  You have 2 that you can use as coasters for Christmas.

Dec 20th 2017 Pine Trees in Lace Swatch

This isn’t a difficult pattern but it does require you paying close attention.  By that I mean, you will do Purl stitches and the next direction will be to YO K1.  After the Purl stitch you can just leave the yarn where it is because it is already in the “YO” position.  When doing the S2KP stitch unless it says YO, make sure you have your yarn in the back of your work because this is a knitted stitch.  You should always have 33 stitches at the end of the row, if you have 34 or 35, you probably failed to put the yarn in the back prior to doing a S2KP.   Just pay attention to your instructions.

This is a beautiful design but because of the large amount of stitches required I just turned this into a small dishcloth.  A larger cloth can be accomplished by adding 2 additional stitches on each border and do 4 stitches instead of 2.

Knitted in a multiple of 18 sts, + 11 and a 16-row repeat.
Cast on:  33 stitches

Materials:  I used a skein of green yarn.
Border:
Row 1 & 2:       Knit across
Row 1 - right side: B2, K1, * yo, p3, S2KP, p3, yo, k9; rep from * to last 12 sts, yo, p3, S2KP, p3, yo, k1, B2.
Row 2 and all wrong side rows: B2, P29, B2.
Row 3: B2, K1, * k1, yo, p2, S2KP, p2, yo, k10; rep from * to last 12 sts, k1, yo, p2, S2KP, p2, yo, k2, B2.
Row 5: B2, K1, * k2, yo, p1, S2KP, p1, yo, k11; rep from * to last 12 sts, k2, yo, p1, S2KP, p1, yo, k3, B2.
Row 7: B2, K1, * k3, yo, S2KP, yo, k12; rep from * to last 12 sts, k3, yo, S2KP, yo, k4, B2
Row 9: B2, K1, * k9, yo, p3, S2KP, p3, yo; rep from * to last 12 sts, k10, B2.
Row 11: B2, K1, * k10, yo, p2, S2KP, p2, yo, k1; rep from * to last 12 sts, k10, B2.
Row 13: B2, K1, * k11, yo, p1, S2KP, p1, yo, k2; rep from * to last 12 sts, k10, B2.
Row 15: B2, K1, * k12, yo, S2KP, yo, k3; rep from * to last 12sts, k10, B2.
Row 16: B2, P29, B2.
Repeat rows 1-16 and then rows 1-8 once more and work border:
Border:
Row 1 & 2:       Knit across.
(I worked rows 1-16 a total of 2 times and then worked rows 1-8 once more and then worked the border)

Knitting abbreviations:
K: Knit | P: Purl | Yo: Yarn over.
S2KP: sl2tog-k1-p2sso - Slip 2 stitches together as if to knit 2 stitches together, knit1, pass the slip stitches one at a time over the stitch just knitted and drop them.\

November 20th 2017 Swatch - Thanksgiving Round Coaster

Knitted Round Coaster

I found this while looking for something else but decided this would look cute in Orange representing a pumpkin pie.  I have posted the site in case you want to visit.

I knitted mine in orange as in Pumpkin Pie but you can use any color you like for your coaster.

Materials: Left over worsted weight cotton yarn
Size 6 (US) Knitting needles.
Coaster size is about 5 inches in diameter.

Directions:
Cast on 8 stitches.
Row 1: (wrong side) Knit
Row 2: K2, yo, K2, turn (4 unworked stitches on left needle)
Row 3: K5
Row 4: K2, yo, K5, turn (2 unworked stitches)
Row 5: K8
Row 6: Bind off 2 stitches, K7 (all stitches worked)

Repeat rows 1-6 (16) times, for a total of 17 wedges. Do not bind off.
Cut yarn, leaving a 10-12" tail for sewing. Sew the "live" stitches on the knitting needle to the cast-on stitches of the first row. Using yarn needle, draw a running thread through the stitches of the inside circle to tighten up the center circle
Enjoy!!!!
hugs...love... & blessings
