Materials:

1 skein of cotton yarn, #6 or #7 Knitting Needles.

Notes:  B2 = K2; K2Tog: Knit 2 sts together; SKP: Slip 1, Knit 1, Pass slipped sts over; SK2P: Slip 1, Knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over; YO = Yarn Over

Cast on: Multiple 10 + 1 (20 + 1 + 4Border= 25)

Border:

Rows 1-2:     Knit across.

Pattern:

Row 1:           Knit across.

Row 2:           B2, P16, B2.

Row 3:           B2, P1, YO, SKP, K1, K2Tog, YO, P1, K2, P1, YO, SKP, K1, K2Tog, YO, P1, B2. (P1, after the B2: leave yarn in the “purl” position to begin the SKP.  After the

K2Tog, start the YO, P1 by making sure you totally wrap the yarn around the needle before completing the P1, otherwise you will have 1 stitch less than you should have).

Row 4:           B2, P16, B2.

Row 5:           B2, P1, K1, YO, SK2P, YO, K1, P1, K2, P1, K1, YO, SK2P, YO, K1, P1, B2.

Row 6:           B2, P16, B2.

Repeat rows 3-6 for pattern. I knitted the set of rows a total of 5 times and worked rows 3 & 4 once more and then work the following:

Pre-Border 1:          Knit across.

Pre-Border 2:          B2, P16, B2.

Border:

Rows 1-2:     Knit across.

Bind off and weave in ends.

Repeat rows 1 & 2, two more times.

Row 8:           B2, P7, K3, P12, B2.

Row 9:           B2, K3, P1, K8, P3, K7, B2.

Row 10:        B2, P2, K3, P3, K3, P6, K1, P4, B2.

Row 11:        B2, K5, P1, K5, P3, K1, P6, K1, B2.

Row 12:        B2, P1, K11, P3, K1, P6, B2.
