2019 Swatch – Two Color Mock Rib
Copyright © Janet Nogle 2018
Materials: You can use a light and dark color
yarn. This swatch is more about color than a pattern or stitch. Partial skein of a light color & partial
skein of a dark color of cotton yarn and a size #6 or #7 US needle. I used
Yellow & Blue.
NOTES:
B2= Knit 2 stitches (Border stitches). When using two colors in this
way, let one color run along side the project till in use again. Drop that
color and start using the alternate color again.
Cast On:
Multiple of even number of stitches plus 4 for the borders. I used 20 +
4 stitches for the borders = 24 stitches.
Border:
Row 1: With dark color, knit across.
Row 2: With dark color, knit across.
Pattern:
Row 1: With dark color Knit.
Row 2: With dark color B2, K2, *Sl 1 (WYIB),
K1; repeat from *, end B2.
Row 3: Add light color by attaching at the
beginning of the row, (leaving the dark color run up the side) when not in use,
let light color lay at the end of the row, no need to cut. Knit across.
Row 4: With light color, B2, K2, *Sl 1
(WYIB), K1; repeat from *, end B2.
Repeat rows 1-4 till desired length,
I repeated 9 more times, repeat rows 1-2 one more time.
Border:
Row 1: With dark color knit.
Row 2: With dark color knit.
Bind off in pattern.
Weave in ends.
