In honor of Valentine's Day here is a great looking coaster:

Level of  Difficulty:       Easy                       

Materials:  1 Skein cotton yarn, #6 US Knitting Needles.

Notes:

YO:  Yarn over / SSK – Slip 1, slip 1, Knit 2 together / Sl – slip / (KW) knitwise.

Cast on:  21

Border:

Rows 1-2:  Knit across.

Pattern:

Row 1:            Knit across.

Row 2:            K2, K17, K2.

Repeat rows 1 & 2 for four (4) more times.

Row 11:         K9, K2Tog, YO, K10.

Row 12:         K2, P17, K2.

Row 13:         K8, K2Tog, YO, K1, YO, SSK, K8.

Row 14:         K2, P17, K2.

Row 15:         K7, K2Tog,  YO, K3, YO, SSK, K7.

Row 16:         K2, P17, K2

Row 17:         K6, K2Tog, YO, K1, YO, Sl 2 Tog (KW), K1, Pass 2 slipped sts over, YO, K1, YO, SSK, K6.

Row 18:         K2, P17, K2.

Row 19:         K8, YO, K2Tog, K1, SSK, YO, K8.

Row 20:         K2, P17, K2.

Row 21:         Knit across.

Row 22:         K2, P17, K2.

Repeat rows 21 & 22 four (4) more times.

Border:

Rows 1 & 2:   Knit across.

Bind off, weave in ends.
