Materials: 1 Skein cotton yarn
#7 US
NeedleSize: 5 ¼ X 5 ½
This is multiple of 6 + 1 stitches
plus border stitches
Our swatch was calculated like
this: 18 + 1= 19 + 4 border = 23This swatch is similar to my pattern called “The Best of Gems” in the knitting calendar for 2013. This is a diamond design and is very pretty.
This will be a Moss stitch border
(K1, P1) on an uneven number of stitches.
This means you would start the row with a K1 and end the row with K1 and
the next row, you would start with K1 and so on. This pattern is for 2 stitches at each end
for the border which means when doing the border you would start the row with
K1, P1 and end the row with P1, K1.
I also gave instructions for a garter
stitch border (knit every stitch) for those who do not want a moss stitch.
Note: B
= Border stitches
