Tulip Lace Swatch


Size:  4 ¾ X 5 ½
Multi 8 + 7 (16 + 7 = 23)
Cast on 23
Level of Difficulty:  Easy

Lace Cloth

Material 1 skein cotton yarn
#6 US Knitting Needles

Notes:                  SKP = Slip 1, Knit 1, Pass Slip Stitch Over
                                K2Tog = Knit 2 together
Border:
Row 1:                  Knit Across
Row 2:                  Knit Across
Pattern:
Row 1:                  Knit across
Row 2:                  Purl across
Row 3:                  K3, *YO, SKP, K6*; repeat between *’s; end with last 4 sts: YO, SKP, K2
Row 4:                  Purl
Row 5:                  K1, *K2Tog, YO, K1, YO,  SKP, K3*; repeat between *’s; end last 6 sts: K2Tog, YO, 
                              K1, YO,  SKP, K1
Row 6:                  Purl across
Row 7:                  K3, * YO, SKP, K6*; repeat between *’s; end last 4 sts:  Yo, SKP, K2
Row 8:                  Purl across
Row 9:                  Knit across
Row 10:                Purl across
Row 11:                K7, *YO, SKP, K6*; repeat between *’s to end,
Row 12:                Purl across
Row 13:                K5, *K2Tog, YO, K1, YO SKP, K3*; repeat between *’s; end last 2 sts:  K2

Repeat the 16 rows one more time,

To make a facecloth I would recommend that you use 24 + 7 + border 6 stitches = 37:
Knit 4 rows for border,
Side Borders:  Start with K3 and end with K3
Work pattern as established above,
Knit 4 rows for border
Bind off
Weave in ends

July 5th Swatch Houndstooth Pattern

OK, I put this on the blog yesterday but now it is gone???  Anyway, here it is again:


Houndstooth Pattern Swatch – July 5th Swatch

Multi 3 (18 + 4 Border=22)
Cast on 22
Level of Difficulty:  Easy

 
 
 
Note:  This swatch requires 2 colors, one light, one dark. (Example:          Color A = Dark, Color B = Light
Slip Stitch – Knitwise  /  KW = Knitwise
Please Note:  After 2nd border row, drop color B (do not cut) and pick up color A, the other color will stay along the side.  When you start the new color, make sure it is in the front and old color in the back.
Border:
Row 1:                  Color B; Knit Across
Row 2:                  Color B; Knit Across
Pattern:
Row 1:                  Color A; (RS) K2, K1, *Sl (KW) 1, K2*; Repeat between *’s to last 4, Sl (KW) 1, K3
Row 2:                  Color A; (WS) K2, P18, K2
Row 3:                  Color B; K2, *Sl 1 (KW), K2*; Repeat between *’s to last 2; K2
Row 4:                  Color B: K2, P18, K2 
 
Repeat above 4 rows till desired length 
 
Border:
Row 1:                  Color B; Knit Across
Row 2:                  Color B: Knit Across
 Bind off, weave in ends
