Row 10:      B2, (K1, P1) Across to border:  B2.
Border:
Row 1-2:     Knit across.
Bind off
Weave in ends.
(I completed the 10 row set, two more times then bound off).

Moss Lace Dishcloth:

You would then follow the above 10 rows for the pattern.  I would suggest casting on (24+1+8 = 33 stitches or 41 for a larger cloth.

Work the 10 repeat rows only substituting 4 stitches for each side of the border instead of 2 stitches on each side.  You can work this design without the moss rows if you like by deleting rows 7-10 and adding a knit row and a purl row and starting the lace portion again.  It would give you a “V” lace cloth.

October 5th 2016 Swatch - Diagonal Check Pattern

Here is our first swatch for October.  This is unique in that it looks the same on both sides so you don't really have a traditional "wrong side".

Level of Difficulty:  Easy

Materials:
1 Skein of Cotton yarn
#6 Knitting Needle
Cast on: Multiple of 15 + Border (15 + 4 = 19)

Cast on:  19

Border:
Row 1-2:     Knit across.

Pattern:
Row 1:        (RS) K2, *P1, K4*; repeat between *’s, end K2
Row 2:        (WS) K2, *P3, K2*; repeat between *’s, end K2.
Row 3:        K2, *P3, K2*; repeat between *’s, end, K2.
Row 4:        K2, *P1, K4*; repeat between *’s, end K2.
Row 5:        K2, *K1, P4*; repeat between *’s, end K2.
Row 6:        K2, *K3, P2*; repeat between *’s, end K2.
Row 7:        K2, *K3, P2*; repeat between *’s, end K2.
Row 8:        K2, *K1, P4*; repeat between *’s, end K2.

Repeat rows 1-8 for pattern till desired length.  I repeated rows 1 x 8 three more times.

Border:
Row 1-2:     Knit across.
Bind off
Weave in ends.

Diagonal Check Dishcloth:
This makes a great cloth because it looks the same on both sides so there really isn’t a wrong side like usual.

I would Cast On 38 for washcloth (15 X 2 = 30 = 8 Border = 38)

Work rows 1-8 as documented above only change border stitches to 4 stitches for each side.
