Level of Difficulty:  Easy

Materials: 1 skein of cotton yarn.
#6 US Knitting Needles

Notes:  B = border stitch of 2 knit stitches on each side.
C2B: Knit 2nd stitch on needle, leaving it on the needle, knit the 1st stitch, drop both stitches from needle. See more info at www.knittinghelp.com if you want to see how this is done or google the procedure.

This design is done with Multiple of (8 +border) 16 + 4 Border = 20 stitches.

Cast on:      20
Border:
Row 1:        Knit across.
Row 2:        Knit across.
Pattern:
Row 1:        BK2, *K3, P2, K2Tog, YO, C2B, P1; repeat from *, end BK2
Row 2:        BK2, *K2, P3, K2, P3; repeat from *, end BK2.
Row 3:        BK2, *K3, P1, K2Tog, YO, C2B, P2; repeat from *, end BK2.
Row 4:        BK2, *K2, P4, K1, P3; repeat from *, end BK2.
Row 5:        BK2, *K3, K2Tog, YO, C2B, K1, P2; repeat *, end BK2.
Row 6:        BK2, *K2, P8; repeat from *, BK2.
Row 7:        BK2, *K2, K2Tog, YO, C2B, K2, P2; repeat from *, end BK2.
Row 8:        BK2, *K2, P8; repeat from *, end BK2.
Row 9:        BK2, *K1, K2Tog, YO, C2B, K3, P2; repeat from *, end BK2.
Row 10:      BK2, *K2, P3, K1, P4; repeat from *, end BK2.
Row 11:      BK2, *K2Tog, YO, C2B, P1, K3, P2; repeat from *, end BK2.
Row 12:      BK2, *K2, P3, K2, P3; repeat from *, end BK2.

Repeat rows 1-12 till desired length (I repeated rows 1-12 one more time.)

Border:
Row 1:        Knit across.
Row 2:        Knit across.

Bind off and weave in ends.

For a larger item such as a cloth, just add a combination of “8” stitches to enlarge.  You might want to also add a few more border stitches as well.
